Skyview is a gymnastics training center in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C.  We are the home of the Gymdancers Performance Team, and competitive programs in Acrobatic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, and Trampoline & Tumbling.  We offer a variety of classes for children of all ages, including Flip! for Xtreme Sports, and Adult Classes.  Our primary goal is to instill a life-long appreciation for the joy and challenges of physical activity.  We provide a strong foundation in gymnastics, excellent training at all levels, and a variety of opportunities for those who wish to pursue the sport.  We believe that by learning to be courageous and confident in motion, a child has learned skills for a lifetime. 

The Gymdancers Performance Team tumbles its way  through a dozen fairs and festivals each year, delighting audiences wherever they go.  Their travels have taken them to all corners of the US and to World Gymnaestradas in Sweden (1999), Portugal (2003), and Austria (2007).

The Skyview Acrobatics Team has been home to both National and International competitors - including numerous Junior Olympic National Champions and a trio of Elite level medalists in International competition.

The Women's Artistic Team, competes in the events familiar to all as Olympic gymnastics.  In the 2006-2007 season, Skyview athletes claimed Gold (Level 4 All-Around) & Silver (Level 5 All-Around) in the Maryland State Championships. 

 

In honor of the 2008 Summer Olympics, Skyview is planning to form a Boys' Artistic Training Team.  Try-outs will be held in May, 2008, with the prospect of competing in the 2008-2009 season.  They will participate in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic Program.

The Trampoline and Tumbling Team is in it's second season at Skyview.  It offers the perfect alternative for athletes who love to move (run, jump, and fly through the air) but who don't particularly enjoy the challenges of the Artistic equipment!  Athletes compete on trampoline, double-mini trampoline, synchronized trampolines, and in power tumbling.
